Check the existing coating, substrate and any repairs before agreeing the scope.

Prepare the details

Clean, sand, fill, caulk and prime as required by the chosen system.

Finish & allow to cure

Apply the agreed coats and explain when the surfaces can return to normal use.

Can varnished woodwork be painted?

Often yes, after suitable cleaning, abrasion and a compatible primer. Condition and adhesion need to be checked first.

Can stairs be used during the work?

Access and drying or curing requirements need to be planned in advance. The sequence depends on which stair components are included and the coating system selected.
